hello, new to your blog here...I googled butler bag and found your post. I've not seen an Avon catalo in years but was given one last week and upon thumbing thru it today - this butler bag caught my eye so I can to the computer to see more about it and if I could find one cheaper... I really don't want to order $15 worth of beauty supplies b/c I don't wear make up... and I found your post.
cool looking purse. and I like that it shows that it will fit a small book too.
question. does it close up? is there a snap, flap or zipper? the bag I carry now holds a lot which I love but everytime I bend over with it on my shoulder all my stuff comes flying out and hitting me on the head and to the floor. I have 2 year old twins so I'm bending over often.
also is it available in more colors than black? oh and can you easily pick up the bag one handed and go from straps in had to bending that arm and up on shoulder without it getting stuck on the elbow?? I'd love to see you post a photo of you and the bag on your shoulder to get an idea of how big it is....

The Butler Bag Basics has a recessed zipper closure.
The bag is very roomy even to fit a medium size book and a magazine. Approx. 13 1/2" L x 11" H x 5 1/4" D. I was pleasantly surprised how wide the bag is!
The Butler Bag Basic comes only in black. I am hoping that Avon add more colors. I would love to have a red Butler Bag!
Now the answer to your question about if the bag can easily be pick up one handed without getting stuck on the elbow:
I tried the experiment one handed and my elbow didn't get stuck, it slightly rubbed against the bag. I can't speak for the rest of the ladies that have their Butler Bag. I would think that everybody have a different shoulder and elbow length.
The Butler Bag handle is aprox 7 inches. That way you can get an idea of how tall the handle is.

I just recently saw this bag in an avon catalog and love it. But I'm curious before I order one, are the compartments sewn in or are the "walls" inserted into the bag?
